Reading Group Questions

1) What did you initially believe happened to Brian Malone? Have you ever known a "Boy Scout" in your life who suddenly took a leap off the straight and narrow?

2) Andy obviously wants to think Brian wouldn't betray her. What are some of the things she discovers about him that convince her she's right?

3) Andy's father had always told her not to jump to conclusions. How does her idea of what happened to Brian change with each new revelation in the book? (For example, Brian's strange phone call, the news flash about Brian's car being found with Trayla Trash dead in his trunk, the ransom demand, et al.)

4) What characteristics does Allie Price, Brian's ex-girlfriend, bring to the "team effort" to find Brian? Do her strengths complement Andy's weaknesses, or is she truly a burr in Andy's butt?

5) What does Andy learn about herself, her mother, and Brian by the book's end?
